Electromobility is the global development center within the Volvo Group for electric drivelines. We develop zero emission propulsion systems making a difference for the Volvo Group’s customers and society as a whole.
At the Energy and Storage System, ESS, we are responsible for the complete battery solution. We are accountable for the lifecycle management of the ESS, from advanced engineering, throughout product development into the maintenance phase. In the Mechanical Design team we are looking for a Component Responsible for Battery Housing.

What will you do?


You will lead the development of the housing creating a platform solution with a modular- and scalable design. You will work with the complete lifecycle of the ESS housings from pre-studies to maintenance phase. You will secure balanced technical solutions with your cross functional collogues. You will lead the development in projects and work in close collaboration with Senior Engineers for the housing. Secure component requirements are captured, documented and balanced. You will also, together with other component responsibles in the group, carry out component roadmaps.


Who are you? Are we a perfect match?


We believe that to be successful in this position, you are a pragmatic team player that knows inside out how to develop HW solutions according to the Volvo GTT standards. You have a broad knowledge and experience of developing mechanical designs and are used to express yourself within requirement specifications. You feel comfortable of owning and taking responsibility of your components and do so with great attitude. We also believe that you have:
Master of Science in Mechanical engineering or equivalent.
Extensive experience working in HW projects within Volvo Group, battery encapsulation background is considered as merit.
Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
At least 5 year within hardware development including technical requirements.
Extensive experienced in supplier collaboration.
Experienced in sheet metal, forged, high pressure die cast and welding technology.
It is considered a merit if you have experience within one or several of the following:
KOLA, pdm-link, PTM/MS Project, JIRA.
