Compute and Storage Engineer

The Assignment
The position exists to support the IT Infrastructure items of Compute and Storage across a global environment. These functionalities must be standardized and maintained across the business in order to improve current services and allow flexibility for future services.

Tasks and assignments
• Provide documentation for support and maintenance of compute and storage infrastructure
• Assist in standardized design of new and existing policies and procedures
• Assist with maintaining operational state of the Global compute and storage infrastructure
• Repair servers and storage equipment on an as-needed basis
• Respond to Help Desk tickets related to compute and storage devices
• Serve as backup to other Compute and Storage Engineers at other sites
• Monitor server uptime/availability, usage, system resources
• Monitor storage arrays for capacity and RAID integrity
• Provide metrics regularly to leadership to give an overall view of the status of the environment


Qualifications
Education
• MCSE or other Microsoft Certification is desired

Experience
• Minimum 5 years’ experience managing Windows Servers.
• 2 - 4 years minimum Managing brand name SAN’s and fibre channel switches.
• 2 - 4 years’ experience with VMware vSphere (various levels).
• 2 - 4 years’ experience with major brand of Backup software and DR

You have the ability to work efficiently and effectively with little direction or guidance. You have strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

You have strong verbal and written communication skills.
