At Volvo Cars, Research and Development is organised in development units, Body and Trim (B&T) is one of the major ones. B&T's responsibilities are to develop almost all visible parts of the car and all structural parts. Some examples are exterior, interior, climate and body. We base these premium, people centred systems upon Scandinavian design, environmental care and safety, among other things.

We would like you to join us at the department Concept Development & Planning within B&T as Concept Engineer. The department has the leading role for the deliveries from early phases of a car project until start of the industrialisation phase.

As Concept Engineer at B&T you are responsible for developing geometrical set ups in concept phase. You will see early design proposals and will have the main responsibility to collect the B&T available technological offer to the project, where they have an impact on the vehicle's main dimensions. You will combine, challenge and benchmark the technological offers within a predefined area, always with the customer in mind. We are a team of five engineers working close together. We work close to specialists in different areas within Research and Development. Networking skills are required to be able to establish task orientated teams mainly within B&T.

Main responsibilities

* Submit agreed B&T system solutions defined in CAD to Strategy & Vehicle Concepts
* Concept development in areas where B&T has the packing responsibility in early phases of a car project
* Create and develop geometrical set up's in CATIA V5 for defined areas of the car
* Deliver according to time plans, geometrical limitations and attributes.
* Lead technical investigations and in that get input from all stakeholders to create the best balanced solution

Your qualifications

* Master of Science or equivalent experience
* 3D modelling in CATIA V5
* At least five years' work experience in Technical competence from car technology
* Experience from concept work in car projects
* Good knowledge in our product development process, systems and tools is a merit
* Knowledge in car design engineering
