What you’ll do
In this role, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of communication planning, strategies and tactics as part of the Content Team in the Communication Department at Volvo Cars.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a proven track record in developing and executing comprehensive communication plans. This role requires expertise in aligning editorial desks and optimizing communications channels to ensure effective dissemination of key messages. You are expected to have a 360-perspective on communication and need to drive the agenda both externally and internally with support from our central communications teams e g PR, Employee Communication, Employer Branding and other internal stakeholders. You will have an overall project lead or oversee delegated projects from start to finish, and, a responsibility to consider omni-channel approaches including new digital media. The role is responsible to consider audiences ranging from media, customers, analysts, potential future hires and Volvo Car fans but not the least our employees around the Globe. Driving the communication agenda and finding the right stories that enable transformation and have positive impact on the company’s position, and business growth is key. In this perspective, there is a responsibility to support and advise our respective Leadership teams on strategic communication matters and be part of their leadership team meetings, leading the communication in a 360-approach. We want you to be passionate about changing the future of Volvo Cars. Have enough self-confidence to challenge the organisation and have enough self-awareness to be open minded and to learn from others.As Content Planning Leader, you will be part of the Content Team and report to the Head of Content & Events and work closely with all key communication areas in the business.  
What you bring
We are looking for a passionate and creative communication professional with a proven track record in developing and delivering engaging and motivational communication strategies. You will have extensive experience in PR or journalism and a demonstratable ability to utilise different channels to deliver the desired business outcome. Having experience within change management is key. You combine your natural interest in creating innovative communication strategies with an ability to always find the right channel for every story. Last, but not least you have a dedicated interest in sustainability (and ideally experience in working with it) and acknowledge that it is a business imperative – critical to corporate resilience and success.  
Qualifications
- BA / BSc in communication, journalism, or equivalent experience
- A strategic, analytical, and creative approach to communication planning, with an ability to manage a range of projects, balancing quality, and speed
- Experience in managing digital strategy and channels
- Exceptional communication skills and fluent English: verbal, written, interpersonal and inter-departmental
- A natural collaborator with a strong ability to build good working relationships with stakeholders and internal colleagues
- A self-starter who is able to work independently and drive results 
- The ability to bring clarity to complex situations and interpret in-depth business and technology messaging in a consumer-friendly way
- Understanding of global corporate sustainability issues and challenges, including within the automotive industry 
- A natural passion for news, communication, and engaging sustainability communication
