Electrical Purchasing, is looking for a Continental Buyer for Embedded Software and hardware electronics located in Goteborg or Lyon. Our Department is managing all the Electrical and Electronics purchasing for Volvo 3P. We are currently approx 25 persons in Europe located in Göteborg and Lyon. The department consists of two buying groups. The Electrical Purchasing of Volvo 3P is a global organization responsible for the Direct Material buying activities of Electronic and Electrical components, modules and solutions for the truck customers worldwide: Volvo, Renault, Mack and Nissan. Our main purchases spread from advanced electronics (ECU's, Instrumentation Clusters, Audio Systems, active safety electronics) to power storage, supply and distribution (Batteries, Alternators and Wiring Harness). At Electrical Purchasing, we strive to work with best-in-class global suppliers, who have the Electronics and Electrical expertise as their core business and also proactively provide our customers with advanced solutions and the latest technologies. Responsibilities: General responsibilities include: Management of software development suppliers as well as suppliers of COTS products to be a part of Volvo Group company products Be a valued resource to the development of embedded software sourcing processes To drive the business model for embedded software, internally and externally (to our hardware suppliers) The position also contains a responsibility for a limited portfolio of hardware electronics Manage the purchasing portfolio with full Profit & Loss responsibility. Purchase of parts and components in accordance with defined strategies Perform sourcing, negotiations, requisition handling and ordering Support projects, in-house and at internal customers Support in developing and implementing strategies and cost savings activities Manage the working relationships with suppliers: solve quality, delivery, cost issues Report and forecast commercial and technical rationalizations Utilize the benefit of co-operation with other Volvo Group companies Manage day-to-day site operations within quality, projects, cost reductions, delivery and supplier relations Qualifications: Several years of experience from embedded software sourcing, or related experiences; for example from a legal point of view (iPR related to embedded Software, contract development, business models) or project management within embedded Software industry.
