Cost Accounting Specialist

Arbetsbeskrivning

Sandvik’s Global Finance Organization strives to protect and enhance shareholder value by turning financial data into the basis for decision-making and by protecting Sandvik’s capital structure. We strive to be true business partners - ensuring high quality processes and providing efficient, reliable and proactive financial analysis. We are right now entering an interesting phase of change and we welcome you to take part in shaping our future!
To strengthen our Group Accounting team, we’re now looking for a Cost Accounting Specialist – someone with experience from a global manufacturing company. This is a new role and a great opportunity to interact and develop professionally in an arena with an exciting agenda aiming to improve our reporting quality and business decision support. Located at our headquarters in central Stockholm, you report to the Sandvik Group Accounting Manager.
Your mission
In this role, you take the overall responsibility for following up on the inventory reporting on a group level. To get a thorough understanding of Sandvik’s treatment of inventory valuation, accounting, and related questions like standard cost, variances and over- and under absorption, you delve into our divisions and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization. Working proactively, you come up with improvement suggestions when applicable, as well as keeping our financial handbook up to date and developing related educational courses and activities.
As you grow into your role, you'll take part in monthly financial closures where you follow up on relevant and specific processes in the consolidation. We are about to change our consolidation system and you therefore participate in streamlining the processes in ways such as elimination of internal profit deposits. During normal circumstances, this job also offers the ability for you to deepen your knowledge about our company by travelling to our different divisions and learning more about the daily operations from a first-hand perspective.
Your profile
We’re looking for someone with a background of at least six years in accounting, where you’ve spent most of the time within the manufacturing industry and built a solid knowledge about inventory accounting. You have a relevant university degree, and it’s beneficial with experience from working with IFRS standards, group accounting and some of the associated accounting systems. As we work in a global organization based in Sweden, good English knowledge is necessary, while Swedish is beneficial.
We put great value in your personal qualities, characterized by your communication skills – you have an ability to explain complex matters in an understandable and pedagogic way and you thrive in a big network of different colleagues and stakeholders. As this is a new role within our team, you are self-driven – taking ownership of your own work and are used to delivering with high quality output.
