Customer-focused Service Engineer to FACTS

You will be part of FACTS in Västerås. The FACTS technology enables power system owners to increase capacity in the existing power system while the electrical stability improves. As a result, more power reaches the customers at a minimal environmental impact, shorter project lead time and at lower investment costs. At the FACTS unit in Västerås, we develop and sell this groundbreaking technology to customers on the global market.

Tasks
FACTS Customer Service is growing and the number of installed plants is continuously increasing around the globe. This is where you enter the picture. You will join the Customer Service Technology department and a team of approximately fifteen people operating on a dynamic and global arena. As Service Engineer, you will be responsible for providing rapid and high-quality support to our customers worldwide. You will play a key role in performing preventive and corrective maintenance on site as well as in preparing, validating, reporting and following up on service assignments. On occasion, you will also participate in the commissioning of plants. This opens up for a stimulating role where you will work with everything from control systems to thyristor valves and cooling systems. You can look forward to making international business trips around 120 days per year ? building a large network, both within and outside of ABB. Requirements
You have a Bachelor?s degree in Engineering with a major in Electrical Power, Electronics or Computer Science. In addition, you need at least five years? work experience, preferably from working with FACTS? control systems, thyristor valves and cooling systems. It is highly qualifying if you have acquired this knowledge through working with commissioning of delivery projects. Knowledge of operating systems and hardware is required while competence in network configuration and knowledge in relay protection is considered an additional qualification. Since you will be working in a global environment, excellent English skills are required, written and spoken alike. Any additional language skills are a plus.

To be suitable for this position, you need to be a quality-focused, independent and adaptable problem solver with strong analytical skills. You have the ability to think on your feet and come up with rapid customer specific solutions. Most important, you always put our customers first and are adept at collaborating across cultures.
