At ABB, we have the clear goal of driving diversity and inclusion across all dimensions: gender, LGBTQ+, abilities, ethnicity and generations. Together, we are embarking on a journey where each and every one of us, individually and collectively, welcomes and celebrates individual differences.
Are you a passionate team player with a high interest in robots? Do you want to continuously gain experience in new technical areas and solve new challenges? If so, we are looking for a Customization Engineer – an exciting role as part of our team in Västerås, Sweden. The customization team designs technical solutions for many of our customers, based on standard systems including manipulators, controllers and track-based systems. The customizations are made in close cooperation with our sales department and end customers.
The role is reporting to Manager Technical Center.
Your responsibilities
As a Customization Engineer your main task will be to handle electrical design in customer engineering projects.
You will also work with mechanical design and possible software configurations for customers and coordinate quality planning in delivery projects.
The work requires close cooperation with customers, suppliers, sales support, manufacturing, R&D, and other internal ABB Robotics colleagues.

Your background
We believe you have a B.Sc. or higher in electrical/mechanical/automation or similar.
A few years of experience from the automation or robotics industry is considered an advantage.
Experience from using design tools like Eplan and SolidWorks.
Due to the close cooperation with both customers and manufacturing a requirement is that you are fluent in both Swedish and English, written and spoken.
As a person you are self-directed, inquisitive, sociable, determined and a fast learner. You have a customer and quality focus, a high interest in learning new things and you are a prestige less team player.
You’ll be part of a great engineering team, and we are happy to teach you whatever you may be missing.
