Schibsted News Media operates market-leading newspapers in Norway and Sweden, including brands such as Aftonbladet, VG, Aftenposten, BT, Aftenbladet, SvD and Omni. Data and Insight are key capabilities we have within these brands today, but now we are doing investments in also strengthening these capabilities centrally.

Consumer Business Technology (CBT) is a central unit in News Media and is responsible for creating a world class customer centric platform for subscription management, with a super strong product portfolio. We are 60 great Product, Tech, and UX people, located in Oslo, Stockholm, and Krakow. One of the teams is CBT Insight. With our 3 Analysts and 2 Data Engineers, we focus on creating value both within CBT, as well as across all of our brands. We are now looking for an addition to the team, in the form of a Data Engineer.

The role
You will report directly to the Head of Data & Analytics and be part of the subscriptions data domain. You will be in the centre of development for cross-functional data projects that are of strategic nature and that will define the future of News Media and Schibsted.

In this role you will:

-
Design and implement scalable data pipelines in batch and stream

-
Manage our Cloud Infrastructure, using Terraform and AWS

-
Design models and architecture for performance, flexibility and scalability

-
Form the platform’s technical direction and roadmap.

Evaluate technology solutions to deliver and store data efficiently and reliably


Who we think you are:

-
A degree of Computer Science, Informatics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or similar

-
Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience working in a professional environment

Strong skills in SQL and at least one OOP-language such as Python, Scala, or Java

-
Experienced in modern data engineering practices and technologies, such as Airflow, Kafka, Kubernetes, Snowflake as well as cloud infrastructure

Good knowledge of agile principles and experience working in an agile environment

-
Responsible, self-driven and with a getting things done mindset

-
Fluent in both written and spoken English

This position will be staffed in Stockholm (Västra Järnvägsgatan 21)
