Nasdaq is looking for a Data Engineer to join the Nordic Economic & Statistical Research (ESR) team, the data analytics hub of the exchange.

With this position, we offer you the opportunity to be part of the Nordic ESR team that provides the Nordic & Baltic region analytical support for all Nasdaq business units. This is achieved by providing Business Intelligence systems for self-service analysis, reporting of recurring statistics and bespoke research services for ad-hoc questions, all to help improve trading, capital formation and market structure.


The ESR team is the amalgamation of three teams: Technology, Research and Statistics, that are jointly responsible both for the technical infrastructure and for providing business insights from prudent management of trading data from our Nasdaq European Markets. This role will be part of the ESR Technology team that is responsible for developing and migrating the data warehouse to Redshift, setup Business Intelligence & reporting solution on AWS


Your role and responsibilities


Manage one or more of ESR's operating systems or database products


Work throughout the full development cycle including requirements, architecture, system integration, data modelling, solution design, testing and quality assurance.


Responsible for large data volumes and building solutions that are scalable. You will continuously improve the performance, robustness and product usability


Work with system requirements, and deliver advice on how to design/acquire technology solutions that align to the strategy and business requirements.


We expect you to have


Bachelor degree in relevant field
Some experience from Data Warehousing
Knowledge of modern relational databases, AWS Stack and especially Redshift or PostgreSQL
Expertise in data model design, stored procedures, and ETL process development (Airflow + Python is a merit)
Experience with complicated data project deploy, includes steps for business analysis, CI/CD pipeline, and document management
Fluent English language skills


It would be great if you have
Experience with BI tools like SAP Business Objects, QlikView or Tableau is a plus
Experience for Agile software development like SCRUM is a plus
Experience with requirement/business analysis so can be a bridge between IT and business owners
