Scania is currently undergoing an exciting transformation from heavy truck manufacturer to a provider of sustainable transport solutions. To successfully support this we need effective Information and Analytics solutions, a robust and well supported Data Platform is a key element in this.

Within the Data Platform team, we are now looking for an experienced data platform operator who together with our developers and data engineers will continue to operate, support and develop our data platform.

The Role:
You will focus on operation and support of our Cloudera/HDP Data Platform, covering (but not limited to):


• Data ingestion using opensource product DBImport
• Monitor and operate jobs in Airflow
• Operate and maintain implemented ETL jobs
• Making sure the data platform is kept robust and secure
• Aid in development of the platform
• Aid in projects and assignments using the data in the platform
• Continuously challenge and improve our data platform and our ways of working

Your profile

Experienced data operator who had responsibilty to monitor and operate data platforms and data ingestion. Experience in handling stakeholders in incident situations. You are meticulous and have an interest in continuous improvements and automation. You are comfortable in a rapidly changing environment and able to navigate at a high rate of change. You are curious and want to learn and understand the business challenges and find (new) ways to support the same. You enjoy working in a team and sharing/gaining knowledge with your team mates.

Wanted Skills and Experience:

A technical person with at least 3 years of experience as data operator.

You must have experience of Hadoop: Hive, LLAP, HBase, HDFS, Kafka, Nifi etc.

Good SQL and used to work in a Unix/Linux environment is a must.

BSc or MSc in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).

Meritorious Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge on Scania operations and supporting tools, have a good technical network to efficiently navigate possible impediments.

Experience in monitoring and maintaining ‘big data’ data pipelines and data sets.

A successful history of manipulating, processing, maintaining and operating large data ingestion flows.

Experience and practice from using agile working methods, DevOps and supporting CI/CD.
