alaTest.com is a profitable, fast-growing internet service that provides a search engine for product quality information.Our service is currently available in 15 markets and 11 languages and growing.In addition to the websites where we collect, analyze and structure product information, we have established successful business partnerships with a number of leading websites such as Kelkoo, CNET.com and Shopzilla.alaTest was recently awarded the Red Herring Global 100 award as one of the most promising tech companies in the world.We are now looking to strengthen our technical team as we continue to improve our services and reshape the market.We are looking for a person for our tech team that will help us to further develop our technical platform and we need to strengthen the team with a skilled database developer.The database is the foundation of our service and enables us to provide content to our partners.You will work to improve the overall process of gathering, structuring, and presenting data on alaTest.com and our partner sites.You should be motivated by developing creative solutions with new technology and be comfortable in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.We work mainly with various Open Source solutions, e.g.Apache, MySQL and PHP and our servers run Linux.Through knowledge, commitment and creativity, you will help us refine our database and technical platform.We are looking for a person with documented experience of database administration, object oriented development and Java.Key Job Responsibilities - Maintain and further refine our database and technical platform - Problem solving and performance tuning in SQL, Java and PHP.- Bringing in new technologies.Job Requirements - An academic degree or equivalent experience of database development.- 5+ years of database design.- Know SQL, C++, Java, Erlang, Python, Lisp, PHP - Experience of some of the below techniques is a plus: Boyce-Codd Normal Form, Hash indexing, Object Relational Database manager, Object Oriented Database manager , Xquery, XSLT, XML, OOP - Works well in a team environment and used to taking own initiatives.We offer great opportunities to influence the work and your role in the company.Please note that our working language is English and it is NOT required that you speak Swedish.The position is a full-time employment, located in our office at Gävlegatan in central Stockholm.Please state 'Database developer in your application.
