DBS (LEAN) Coordinator

The DBS Coordinator is responsible for promoting and facilitating the successful implementation of the Danaher Business System (DBS) at Cepheid, allowing the site to meet their Policy Deployment (PD) and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets. The DBS Coordinator is also responsible for assisting continuous improvement of all processes across all functions on the site and to continuously support in the organization’s DBS knowledge development.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in sustainable improvement in QDCI (Quality, Delivery, Cost and Innovation) that is tied to Policy Deployment (PD), KPIs and Daily Management (DM) by supporting the use of DBS tools.
Support and facilitate diagnosis of workflow impediments and other wastes across the organization and help apply DBS tools to eliminate them.
Provide formal and informal DBS training and coaching to associates.
Assist in driving and promoting successful kaizen events by installing and ensuring compliance to the kaizen process (includes; (1) planning of kaizens with a dynamic funnel process (2) kaizen execution and (3) sustainment of kaizens).
Improve DBS training and facilitation skills by pursuing certification in some DBS tools
Support with the maintenance and updates of the Kaizen funnel and prepare summaries as needed
Prepare various data summaries on DBS activities and KPIs
In collaboration with DBS Manager assist working on a DBS road map /strategy for the site
Support with adminstration of the CP funnel in collaboration with DBS Manager

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience (in years):


University degree in any of the areas Life Sciences, Engineering or Economics and a minimum of 2 years of work experience. Alternatively, a minimum of 5 years equivalent work experience to perform at this level.

Knowledge and skills:


Familiarity with various manufacturing process technologies (if supporting Operations areas) and transactional processes (if supporting Manufacturing support areas).
Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a higher perspective
Basic knowledge of Lean and Continuous improvement processes
Ability to learn a variety of DBS tools (either Lean or Growth-related DBS Tools, depending on areas(s) they support).
Good communication skills
Good teaching skills
Good writing and administrative skills, including computer skills, excel and office tools
Ability to work independently
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
Ability to provide effective updates
Good structural and organizational skills
High level of initiative, self-motivation and energy
Customer focused
High level of integrity
