Power Electronics - Let's introduce ourselves

Volvo Cars have created world-changing innovations since the first Volvo rolled off the production line in 1927. Recently we launched our second-generation battery electric vehicles; the EX90 and EX30 joining our EX40 and EC40 Recharge which are already on the road for over three years now. That´s not enough: we are committed to putting one million electrified cars on the road by 2025!  
The department Power Electronics designs the brain of the Electric Vehicle propulsion system - The Traction Inverter HW & SW as well as Power Conversion and Charger Units. What you'll do

You will be the department interface towards Unit Concept Leader and the vehicle programs. You will be responsible for keeping track of, and report time, technic and cost when needed. You will work closely together with the System Architect, and cluster the Advance Engineering projects together as one concept and find the optimal introduction time. You will be a part of Charging product module and work together with concept leaders for charging and conversion. You are responsible to report status of your scope to programs during concept phase. Once the concept is settled and tested you will hand it over to the Department Program Manager who will lead it through the industrialization phase. 

What you'll bring

On a personal level, you are a highly motivated and reliable team player with a positive attitude. You are used to taking initiative and like to share your passion and knowledge with others. You also have an analytical way of approaching challenges; you enjoy being challenged and has a flexible mindset. 

We also believe you:  
Have a university degree in Electrical Engineering or similar, preferably towards power electronics 

Have solid experience from working with power electronics design within automotive or industrial applications, as well as knowledge in modern electronics design and simulation tools such as Matlab or Simulink 


And it’s a bonus if you:  
Have knowledge in power circuit analysis, such as worse-case circuit analysis, failure method effectivity & criticality/reliability and prototyping equipment 

Have good knowledge of EMC
