Department Manager

Our client is a successful global corporation producing advanced materials for the Process Industry.The Swedish site is located in a dynamic and attractive part in the southern part of Sweden.The manufacturing part of the company is organized in departments consisting of 50-100 employees in each department. Work description As Department Manger you will; * lead and allocate work delegated from the superior Plant Manager according to company policies, quality systems and targets * represent the department in the Site Management Group * lead and, when required, participate in projects within as well as outside your department * be responsible for ensuring that the department's work follows the demands set out by internal directives and general rules (production targets, budget, quality systems, Lean etc) as well as external directives (i.e.work environmental tasks and other enforcing rules) * be responsible for the planning, implementation, evaluation, reports and development of the department's work * be responsible for, in close cooperation with the HR department, recruitment, employment, development and termination of subordinate personnel * have economical authority according to the company's instructions for attestation or other enforcing documents Candidate profile You have preferably an Engineering degree at University level or equivalent.At least 4-5 years experience from mechanical manufacturing, automotive and process industry is an advantage.You also have a minimum of 2-3 years experience from working in a managerial position within the industry sector.It is of importance that you are familiar with Lean Manufacturing or similar systems.You have excellent written and spoken language skills in both Swedish and English and preferably some knowledge of business economics. We are looking for a positive team player and an effective communicator.You're self confident and independent, as well as a competent problem-solver and decision-maker who can get the job done.In addition, you have excellent analysis- and planning skills and ability to handle several tasks at the same time.A will to take on other positions further on and on a higher level, within the company and possibly outside Sweden, will be regarded as positive.
