RFSU is a non-profit organisation independent of party politics, unions, and religion. We work locally, nationally and internationally with sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). RFSU’s office and clinic are located in central Stockholm. RFSU’s purpose is to drive and mobilise for change towards sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), choice and pleasure.
 
Our international priority areas within SRHR are access to safe abortion, access to sexuality education and sexuality and non-discrimination. RFSU aims to strengthen international legal, political and financial support for SRHR, and contributes to civil society agency on SRHR, by partnering with other civil society actors and supporting progressive civil society voices in low- and middle-income countries. RFSU cooperates with approximately 40 civil society organisations in 20 different countries worldwide. Find out more about RFSU here
 
Are you our next Deputy Director, who wants to forward the SRHR-agenda together with a fantastic and committed team of 17 staff at RFSUs in a co-leadership-model? We are just about to enter into a super exciting development-phase and we are looking for you who want to be part of the co-creation of the future of RFSU internationally.
In line with RFSU values, leadership principles and in collaboration with the International Director you will be responsible for:



• the strategic long-term development of RFSU's international programs with a specific mandate to develop the international policy-advocacy programs’ priorities and strategies. 
• overseeing, coordinating and providing the support needed by team members, with a focus on staff working on policy advocacy work. 
• overseeing the implementation of the program and the annual operational and budgetary planning, monitoring and reporting processes, lead and develop the programme.  
• contributing to the development of external relations within and outside the sector in Sweden and internationally.
• contributing to diversification of financial resources to RFSU and the long-term financing of the international program. 
• creating and maintaining conditions for learning to provide capacity strengthening of the team, including cross-departmental learning. 
• the working environment and safety of staff.
• contributing to the overall development and management of RFSU through being a member of the RFSU management team. You report to the Director of the International Unit.


Qualifications

• Several years of professional experience of intergovernmental processes and political advocacy in Sweden, the EU or the UN.
• Professional experience of having worked with, or good knowledge of, human rights and/or rights-based approaches. 
• Some years' experience in a management position or in a supervisory role over a large group of staff.
• Experience and knowledge of leading processes for strategy development.
• Relevant college/university education.
• Fluent in English, spoken and written, and at least basic knowledge of Swedish.

 
Merits

• Knowledge of SRHR, reproductive justice and intersectionality.
• Experience from multi-sectoral work between civil society-government-academia.
• Professional or life experience from the geographical regions RFSU is cooperating with.
• Networks in sectors other than civil society in Sweden/Swedish development policy
• Experience of resource mobilisation.
• Fluent Swedish.

Information about the position
This is a full-time permanent position starting with a 6 months long trial period (full-time at RFSU means an average of 37,5 hours per week). We would like you to start as soon as possible. There are several benefits such as wellness allowance, wellness hour (1 hour per week) and subsidized lunch. It is important that you either are a Swedish citizen or that you have a work permit for working in Sweden. If Swedish is not your first or second language you need to be willing to over time learn the language as Swedish is the working language at RFSU.
