Design Checker

G2P , Process & IT Global Product Development & Purchasing (G2P) within Volvo Buses, develop and maintain complete Bus vehicles. Our department "Process & IT" is responsible for processes, methods and tools used by G2P globally. Our main areas of responsibility are: Process Development, Product Documentation Management and IS/IT. Design checking The purpose of design checking is to avoid interference and delays in subsequent activities , to promote shorter lead times and less risk for manufacturing. This includes a continuous dialogue with design engineering, education, advice and support. Responsibilities: Responsible for that all released documentation follows the applicable Volvo standards Check that all documentation fulfil form, fit and function Training of employees and consultative in Volvo standards and methods in the area of dimensioning, tolerancing, requirements and drawing rules Represent Volvo Bus Corp within the Volvo Group; receive, distribute and reply proposals from Volvo Corporate Standards in the above-mentioned field. Initiate the working for new standards and routines in the above mentioned field Initiate the need of new standard parts Advisory regarding; choice of standard parts, choice of material, tolerancing, tolerance calculations etc. Qualifications: Wide knowledge in the appropriate field of design and the ability to follow the development of technology within areas concerned High skill level when it comes to tools for documentation, as there are standards, methods, routines, instructions and current manufacturing and inspection methods. Service minded approach, high level of integrity, be well structured and quality oriented.
