To be able to succeed Volvo Cars’ vision that nobody should be seriously injured or killed in a new Volvo car, the Autonomous Driving area is an integral part of development within Active Safety. 

The Product stream Active Safety and Autonomous Drive is responsible for both research/advanced engineering and industrialisation including implementation, verification and validation of current and future customer offers. You will work in a team of skilled engineers that design the software platform to enable function development for self-driving cars. The development work is done in close collaboration with both internal and external partners.

What you will do
As Design Engineer in software development you will be a part of the agile team that is leading the technical development of the next generation software platform systems. You will work with a broad variety of tasks that encompasses leading development of software components that fulfils the requirements from technical, time and cost perspectives and synchronize planning with both internal and external software component suppliers. Releasing software and supporting documentation meeting our vehicle program plan and manageing technical design reviews, both internal reviews and supplier reviews are also part of the role.

You and your skills
You have an Academic degree within product development and experience from software project management and structured work in a structured development process. You are comfortable in managing suppliers in an international environment and you have excellent English skills, both verbally and in writing. You are a self-motivated and team-oriented person with a technical mindset and well acquainted with agile methods. You possess an energetic approach to continuously learn and innovate. And you see a challenge in using your problem-solving skills in this dynamic environment.
