Want to join an extraordinary team developing world-leading products that make it easy to bring along the things you care for – easily, securely and in style – when living an active life?

Are you an experienced Design Engineer and want to further develop your career together with a great team of highly skilled engineers?
Welcome with your application!

About the position:
As a Design Engineer at our Global Product Development Center located in Hillerstorp you will be involved in the development of new products such as equipment for cycling-, water- and winter sports, roof boxes, roof top tents, bike trailers, strollers and child bike seats and bags etc.

You will have the opportunity to further develop your career together with a great team of highly skilled engineers with a high level of technical expertise and interest for the products that Thule Group develops. You will work with world-class products as well as gaining new knowledge and experiences.

As a Design Engineer at Thule Group you follow the complete Product development cycle from idea to industrialization that gives a very good overview and strong ownership to the product you currently develop. You will develop new products and components with high quality within targeted cost budget and time plans to meet market requirements of our consumer. You will also be evaluating technical solutions with respect to manufacturing methods, strength requirements, cost and aesthetics.

Since we believe in hands on product development we have over the last years invested in a very modern prototype workshop that allows you as a Designer to quickly move from idea to physical prototypes at hand which makes your work more dynamic and diverse. You work in project teams in close cooperation with Project managers, Simulation Engineers, Test engineers, Prototype makers and other Design Engineers as well as other resources within Thule Group. You learn new things continuously through your daily work as well as from Thule’s setup with Knowledge teams for all important disciplines.

About the candidate:
To do this with success we believe you have a couple of years of relevant work experience, preferably within the field of consumer products for high volume production together with a proven and keen interest to develop great long-lasting products.

You have an academic degree in related fields or equivalent documented experience.
We also believe you have 3D-CAD competence (preferable Solidworks), PDM-system competence, documented technical knowledge as well as fluency in English and Swedish. To enjoy your new organization you need a pro-active and entrepreneurial personality who thrives in a high speed and team oriented environment. We trust you have a structured and professional approach with flexibility in mind and consistent in delivery together with a strong problem-solving ability.

We believe in strong team work both within your own team but also across teams. We strive to be an open and curious organization, sharing our knowledge and inspiring one another. Within Thule Group you will find people who have a passion for the products we make and the outdoor company we are. We share the same values and we like to have fun. All of our employees have a joint responsibility to maintain that spirit and contribute to it.

About our Global Product Development Department:
We have over 170 engineers working in our Global Product Development Department and to keep the momentum in successful product development innovation, most of our Product Development functions are in-house, such as project managers, industrial designers, concept-, design-, prototype-, simulation- and test-engineers.

Our team consists of highly skilled and motivated members with a well-balanced variety of experiences.
We are a truly global company with an international and multi culturally mixed team. English is the language we use in our daily communication.

We see a great future with continues passion for product development that is so vital for our growth as a company. We have invested heavily in expansion of our site in Hillerstorp. New offices, more space and a highly equipped Product Development center with a very impressive Global Test Center are investments that we are proud of. We also try to engage as much as possible in the nearby community to help develop a pulsate and sustainable future.

We are proud of our roots and history of being part of the entrepreneurial Gnosjö area. Our investment in new resources, facilities and product development is also a huge investment in the area of Hillerstorp and Gnosjö.
