The Engine Transmission group is a part of the Dressed Engine Section within Powertrain Research and Development. We are now expanding our team of 14 members and several new engine projects are in motion. The groups' responsibility is to develop the FEAD (Front End Auxiliary Drive), TVD/Decoupler, Timing drive (synchronization between crankshaft and camshafts) and designing unique brackets if necessary. The FEAD team is designing, developing and verifying systems and components. You will work with the latest technology in order to reach the future characteristics and requirements in a very exciting field.

As Design Engineer you will be working in projects from advanced engineering/concept phase up until production start and aftermarket. You will coordinate and lead the work within your responsibility area, to reach the objectives and secure the deliveries within the given time and budget. Close contact with other areas within VCC Research & Development, purchase, manufacturing and suppliers are necessary. You will report to the project leaders and group manager.

Main responsibilities

* Lead, plan and drive the work within your own responsibility area
* Develop components and technical solutions according to technical-, quality-, time- and cost requirements
* Create and release technical documentation, such as requirements, drawings /3D-models
* Plan and follow up status of component development and verification testing, both internally and at supplier
* Initiate and assure correct actions when deviations occurs
* Communicate the status and forecast
* Take part in developing and improving our way of working and methods

Required qualifications

* M.Sc., Bachelor of Science or equivalent based on work experience
* Experience from product development
* Good communication and computer skills
* Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing
* Drivers' license B
* Basic Engine knowledge is an asset
* Knowledge of VCC systems is an advantage
* Experience in leading a cross-functional team is meritorious
* Documented experience of CATIA is meritorious
