Design engineer, Engine Suspension

Group 26443, Chassis Structure, is responsible for development and design of complete frame, cab suspension, engine suspension and propshaft installation. Tasks and responsibilities: Within 26443, we work together with colleagues around the world in different projects to develop new components and installations for our future trucks, while continually maintaining our current products. We are also exploring new technologies in advanced engineering. You will work mainly as a Design Engineer, taking the responsibility for the component area engine suspension. You will work together with suppliers and stakeholders, you will deliver components to projects and develop the area through technology strategies and advanced engineering. You will also work as a module team leader, taking the responsibility for representing the group and coordinating the groups engineering activities for certain projects. As a Design Engineer and module team leader, you will work cross functional with a lot of contacts with purchasing, manufacturing, testing, aftermarket etc, both locally and on other sites within Volvo 3P and suppliers outside of Volvo. Profile: You have an open and positive attitude. The job requires that you create a good network within and outside the company You should be able to take responsibility and independently lead the tasks within your engineering area but also for the whole group You have an innovative mind set and are open to try new ideas Qualifications: We think you have a university degree, MSc or BSc, concentrated on mechanical engineering Knowledge and experience from rubber materials is an advantage Knowledge and experience of product development is an advantage We think you are a person with a wide knowledge in the area of mechanical engineering You have the ability to easily communicate in English both spoken and written We can offer you an interesting job with a mixture of technologies and a wide network.
