Improved safety and ergonomics are core competency areas within Volvo CE and also a continuously increasing demand from our customers. Therefore we are looking for a designer with proficiency in ergonomics to further strengthen our Operator environment team. Job description: You will work over the whole Volvo CE range of machines, securing good ergonomics in and around the cabins. This covers many areas such as visibility, operator postures, zones of reach, hand and feet controls, Cab ingress/egress, instrumentation, symbols etc. You will participate in all the development stages, setting up requirements, designing, giving recommendations and performing field tests. Since most of the projects are done in cross functional teams, good communicative skills and ability to work in teams is a must. You should also posses an ability to understand and accept cultural differences as well as seeing the benefits with working in an organization where diversity is seen as an asset. The job will be located in Hallsberg but will require close cooperation with all the Volvo CE divisions worldwide, therefore you are required to have a good command of English. Desired qualifications, experience and qualities: Masters degree in engineering with good knowledge of ergonomics or equivalent experiences: An understanding for the human physical abilities and limitations as well as a desire to improve peoples work environment. Experience from executing ergonomic evaluations. Good knowledge of 3D CAD systems, especially Catia V5 is an advantage. Ability to easily communicate in Swedish and English both spoken and written. Ability to work independent as well as in groups. Previous experience from the heavy duty vehicle industry or the automotive industry is seen as an advantage.
