Plastics design is a core competency area within Volvo CE AB, Cab division and also an area with continuously increasing demands from our customers. Therefore we are looking for a designer with proficiency in automotive plastics design to further strengthen our Cab design team. Job description: You will work over the whole Volvo CE range of machines, securing that quality plastic parts are designed cost effectively. We work with a large number of manufacturing technologies mostly injection molding but also vacuum forming, rotary molding etc. and a broad experience from plastics design is preferred for this roll rather than a narrow specialist. You will participate in all the development stages, setting up requirements, designing in our CAD-systems, giving recommendations and performing reviews. Since most of the projects are done in cross functional teams, good communicative skills and ability to work in teams is a must. You should also posses an ability to understand and accept cultural differences as well as seeing the benefits with working in an organization where diversity is seen as an asset. The job will be located in Hallsberg but will require close cooperation with all the Volvo CE divisions worldwide, therefore you are required to have a good command of English. Desired qualifications, experience and qualities - Masters degree in engineering, materials or mechanical Engineering or equivalent experiences. - Plastics processing knowledge, for example injection molding, vacuum forming, rotary molding etc. - Good knowledge of 3D CAD systems, especially Catia V5 is an advantage. - Ability to easily communicate in Swedish and English both spoken and written. - Ability to work independent as well as in groups. - Previous experience from automotive plastics design is seen as an advantage.
