Design Release Engineer

SAAB Automobile AB is a world wide operating premium car manufacturer and is embedded in General Motors Europe organization.The Electrical department is now looking for a: Design Release Engineer Engine Wiring Harness The Electrical department within Product Engineering of GM Europe is, among other things, responsible for the definition, development and release of ECM & Engine wiring harnesses.The group has members in both Sweden and Germany and the functional supervisor is placed in Russelsheim.The position as Design Release Engineer Engine Wiring Harness involves development and release of ECM + engine wire harnesses (engine specific) to guarantee end functionality of the engine as well as meeting requirements for cost, timing and quality.You will be guiding cross functional teams with internal and external participants and working groups including supplier integration.You will also participate in the commercial evaluation of supplier's offers together with purchasing dept.The position also requires you to make presentations for decision of technical solutions in committees of the product teams.Additional tasks include the execution of the releases in the appropriate data base systems and support building of prototypes and pilot cars.We are looking for a person with a higher education in electrical (or comparable) engineering or a technician with many years of experience (>5 years) of electric/electronic development work.Experience with wiring harness development particularly within automotive and experience with interpretation of electrical architecture for embedded systems is an advantage.Proficient in English and drivers license for car is required.
