SAAB Automobile AB is a world wide operating premium car manufacturer and is embedded in General Motors Europe organization.The Chassis Control Systems department in Trollhättan expands its capabilities to the future demands and looks for: SAAB needs an Advanced Design Release Engineer (ADRE) for Chassis Control systems, architectures and software.(ref no 294-1556) The Department: The driving experience in a modern car is increasingly created by the electronic control systems embedded in the vehicles subsystems.The Global Chassis Control team has been established to define and lead execution of the control strategies for chassis systems such as steering, brakes and wheel suspension.The team is tasked with ensuring that proven technology solutions are available when they are needed by GMs vehicle development teams around the world.Another task is to manage GMs portfolio of technology solutions so that the most appropriate technology will be selected and implemented in each vehicle platform.As a ADRE you will: . Analyze technical and commercial trends, identify technical opportunities and drive innovation in your designated area.. Manage part of the the Chassis Controls "Bill of Functions" to ensure fast to market introduction strategies..As project leader independently plan and lead execution of the development process to prepare technology for implementation in vehicle programs worldwide.You will be responsible to make sure that deliveries are performed on time and with the required quality.Much of your time will be spent in intensive networking and in cooperation with engineers and groups all over the world, inside and outside GMs organisation.You will be responsible for project documentation and report to the Subsystem Leader and the Global Chassis Controls Leadership.Qualifications : To be able to manage this job we believe you need to have an Engineer degree (MSc/Diplom Ingenieur(TU)/Civilingenjör or higher).Your specialization can be either a mechanical engineer/vehicle specialization with supporting knowledge of controls theory and electronics or a Controls Engineer/Electronics specialization with supporting knowledge of vehicle dynamics and vehicle systems.You probably have experience from project leading role(s).As a person we would like you to have very good analytical skills, we value creativity and innovation.You are a very convincing communicator and negotiator.You have a high ability to plan, execute and persistently drive long term projects and you have a strong personal drive to succeed.You have to be fluent in spoken and written English.Knowledge of the Swedish or German language is a merit.You must be able and willing to work independently in a globalized environment.
