The SKF group is the world's leading global supplier of products, services and solutions in the area comprising rolling bearings, seals, mechatronics, services and lubrications systems.The Group has around 100 manufacturing sites, and is represented in more than 130 countries.The SKF Group Manufacturing Development Centre in Gothenburgis the central research and development facility for manufacturing processes used in SKF.With 65 employees of various nationalities its role is to reinforce SKF's technical leadership in manufacturing and processing of rolling bearings and related products.To strengthen our competence in the field of Hard Machining/Grinding, we are looking for a DevelopmentEngineer-AbrasiveMachining (Utvecklingsingenjör - slipning) Sökord: Civilingenjör, Högskoleingenjör, PhD, licentiat, doktor, mekanik, konstruktör, slipning, härdning.precisionsslipning, högvolym produktion.SKF Group MDC (Manufacturing Development Centre) has a responsibility for developing new manufacturing processes and equipment for ultimate use in SKF factories distributed worldwide.Accordingly MDC endeavours to keep informed on all new technology developments and how they can be applied to improve production efficiency, quality and performance of SKF products.[ We are seeking a Process Engineer who has a good knowledge in development of the grinding process and or super finishing of hardened steel.The person should be highly motivated to work with the technology development both in an R&D and a factory environment.Key Tasks * To initiate, define and perform activities and lead projects dealing with the R&D, manufacture and installation of processes and equipment in the SKF Group. * To advice on Hard Machining issues and to develop a good working cooperation network with manufacturing personnel in SKF. * Support the MDC team with theoretical knowledge in grinding and / or super finishing in different machine tool or process development projects * To work with universities, research institutes and suppliers to develop new competence for the SKF Group. * To keep aware of external developments and translate new ideas into opportunities for the SKF Group.Requirements * University or equivalent technical education preferably in machining processes or machine design. * 2-3 years experience in the industrial application of Hard Machining processes for volume production * Experience from manufacturing or knowledge from design of CNC machine tools is an advantage * A self-motivated, proactive team worker with good communication skills. * Experience in leading projects. * Team leading and facilitation skills. * Good ability to speak and write in English; a second or third foreign language is an advantage (e.g.German, French, Spanish). * Willingness to travel and to work abroad on short assignments.We offer A challenging job in an international team of highly qualified engineers with frequent customer contacts, a stimulating work environment and possibilities for professional growth.
