Kalmar is looking for a structured and motivated professional who will be part of development for Electric Drives regarding products within the Business Line Fork Lift Trucks (FLT) in Mobile Equipment division (ME) based on customer needs, legislation and internal requirements and according to business strategies. You will lead assigned tasks with partners, consultants and suppliers. You will be involved in developing system and if needed components together with suppliers.

Key accountabilities
Together with Principal Systems Engineer (PSE) you will define specification for components and systems in co-operation with Chief Engineers and responsible R&D Manager. One of the main responsibilities also will be to secure that components and systems meet specified technical customer demands, product safety, legislations requirements and internal demands for products. Furthermore, in consultation with PSE you will coordinate components and systems design between products, also respond on service, production and supplier issues and planning and performing own activities according to specified requirements and time schedule. You will have the responsibility for regularly reporting to responsible R&D Manager and PSE regarding outcome and possible deviations. According to customer demands you will choose design, material and components. In consultation with responsible R&D Manager and PSE, you will be responsible to purchase component for test and evaluations, perform customer and supplier visits and initiate and order testing for verification and evaluation of a design.


What will make you successful in the role:
In order to be successful in this role, you need to have university degree corresponding to area of responsibility or similar knowledge through experience. It is essential that you have technical knowledge regarding ME product types or similar rubber tire vehicles and experience in product development activities. It will be beneficial if you have previous experiences regarding other Kalmar products are qualifying. You have business - and market mindset, focus on customer needs and good communication skills are important. You have good knowledge in engineering tools for design, used by Kalmar and the ability to be analytical, structural and result oriented. As a person you are problem solver with positive attitude. It is essential that you speak Swedish and English.
