Volvo Construction Equipment, a business area within the Volvo Group, is one of the world's leading manufacturers of construction equipment such as wheel loaders, excavators, articulated haulers, road development equipment and compact equipment. Production facilities are located in Europe, Asia, North America and Latin America. The turnover for 2007 reached SEK 53 billion. The number of employees is app. 16,000. The engine development department is the centre within Volvo CE for development of engines and auxiliary components for engines. The development responsibility consists of engine mechanical design, performance development and design of auxiliary components for engines. Today we are doing this development for Articulated Haulers, Excavators, Wheel Loaders and Road Machinery Development engineer exhaust aftertreatment In order to strengthen the department's competence and capacity to meet future exhaust emission requirements, we are now looking for a development engineer in the area of exhaust after-treatment. Within this function you will be responsible in engine projects to specify, develop and design components for the exhaust after-treatment systems focusing on particulate matters and nitric oxides. You will also support quality assuring activities of the components as well as for the complete systems. Should the occasion arise, you will also be responsible for product maintenance activities on the components and systems. The work is carried out in close co-operation with engine development, our different business lines and sub-suppliers. Qualifications: M.Sc or B.Sc in mechanical engineering, or similar Previous experience in mechanical design of exhaust after-treatment systems with associated components is seen as a merit Knowledge and interest in engines is seen as a merit High ability to plan and structure your own work Very high ability to take own initiatives High skills in english, since the work is carried out in a global environment
