Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

This includes a digital transformation as well as a competence transformation at Scania. 


The Smart Factory Lab (SFL) is an innovation arena with focus on adapting, evaluating and sharing automation and digitalization technologies. The goal is to increase Scania’s productivity as well as improve quality, safety and ergonomics in our operations.  

You will be working in a multi-cultural team of engineers from production and IT, focusing on both research, development and deployment. Examples of technologies used in the lab are assembly and logistic automation, Internet of Things, advanced analytics and computer vison, virtual and augmented reality. The Smart Factory team is growing and will take a more active role in competence development within Scania and also for deploying the technologies that have showed promising results in the lab.  



Your tasks
in your role you will lead the development or design of new solutions and technologies. The work as a development engineer also improve existing technical processes, machines and systems and adapt, evaluate and demonstrate new technologies. Furthermore, you will assist in implementing technologies within production and logistics. Your focus area will be in the automation field.

Your profile
You have a M.Sc. in Production/Industrial Engineering in related fields and demonstrated experience in the industry. You speak and write english fluent. Swedish/portuguese/french/dutch/german/spanish is a merit. 

You have:


• Good understanding of complex technical problems and ability to solve them
• Interest and possibility to build physical demonstrators and prototypes
• Experience with IT environment (CAD and programming)
• Good communication skills, a team player, ability to energize
• Demonstrated ability to influence and network across multiple functional teams
• PLC & robot programming skills
