Digital Publishing Business Controller

We are now looking for a Business Controller for Publishing to join our Controlling team.



About the team

You will be joining our Controlling team and report to the Head of Controlling. The team consists of six controllers dedicated to either Digital Publishing or Streaming. We exist to enable Storytel to realize its long-term goals and vision by making forecasts, following up on those forecasts, and creating confidence in the organization that we are making the right decisions based on available data.



About the role

As a Business Controller for Publishing, you will work with analyzing how the digital publishing business is performing both financially and operationally. You will also provide valuable insights and input to the Content department as well as our Country Managers. In addition to this, you will support the rest of the organization with ad-hoc analysis and developing the business cases for projects relating to the Content business area.

You will work with the Head of Controlling and other departments within the company, primarily Content, with reporting, analysis and follow-up of the company's operations and its financial results and development, including but not limited to;

- Follow up on financial performance and key KPIs
- Develop forecasts and budgets
- Work closely with the Content business area and provide input on how the business is performing as a whole as well as more detailed analysis on how specific markets are performing operationally and financially


- Provide input to Country Managers of how the markets are performing and provide input on how this performance can be improved via digital publishing decisions

- Ad-hoc analysis and supporting other business areas with various business cases

About you

We are looking for someone who has a strong interest in business development and an understanding of different business drivers. You will need to have a good understanding of accounting and financial reports We are a performance-driven team and you are going to face situations where you will have to make use of good planning, prioritizing and organization skills to deliver against set deadlines.

To be successful in the role we believe that you have:

‍🎓Higher education - University degree in business administration, finance or similar

Excellent analytical ability

🕵️+2 years’ work experience from performing analysis and clearly presenting your conclusions

Has excellent knowledge in Excel, or a similar tool

🇧 Fluent or on a professional level in spoken and written English
