Right now, we are in an exciting transformation process where you have the opportunity to contribute and make your mark – come and create this new future together with us! We are now looking for a Director Accounting Governance, within the Accounting and Group Reporting function.


What you will do
Accounting and Group Reporting consist of Group Accounting and Accounting Governance and is responsible for the accounting within Volvo Cars on Group and entity level, including accounting standards, group consolidation and internal and external financial reporting.

Accounting Governance consist of 4 dedicated employees and is responsible to instruct, guide and assist the organization to apply correct accounting treatment for all kind of transactions within Volvo Car Group. The function is responsible for the following areas:

Hold ownership of Volvo Car Group Finance manual
Act on new accounting principles in a timely manner
Provide correct and timely accounting advice to the organization regarding accounting effects of business transactions
Provide correct and timely accounting advice to the organization regarding accounting treatment of complex contracts
Educate the organization to comply with Volvo Car Groups Finance Manual (Provide training sessions, roadshows and Global Accounting Topics meetings etc)
Participate in networks and representing Volvo Car Group in different internal and external fora’s
Being a part of the preparation of financial reports together with Group Accounting


As Director Accounting Governance you will be responsible for leading the group’s work including personnel responsibility for the team. You will be reporting to the VP Accounting, Group Reporting and Tax. The position will also require extensive contact with different positions within Group Finance, Global Finance Operations and Business Control as well as with external auditors.


How are you
Preferably you have a university degree in Business Administration, major in finance or accounting or equivalent. In your professional life you have at least 7-10 years of experience in finance from a global corporate production setting or audit environment, with focus on group accounting and financial reporting. Furthermore, we see that experience from and accounting firm is an advantage for this role.

You bring a full understanding and extensive knowledge in IFRS accounting standards. Since this is a crucial leadership role we expect you to have leadership skills and experience from a managerial position. And finally, you need to be fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.


On a personal level
We are looking for an open-minded and driven team player who has refined communications skills and high level of business acumen. Having a holistic mindset and good analytical skills are also key factors in this role. Further, you are motivated by working independently and being able to contribute on our exciting journey ahead.
