Director Industrialization

Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Director level professional to join our bold team in Västerås.
In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.
If seleted, you will directs and develop a team responsible for the optimization, design, and implementation of manufacturing processes, equipment and plants for cell manufacturing. Drive continuous improvement in process design, costs savings, quality and resource utilization.
As leader of the unit you will have the opportunity to build a competent and dependable team from scracth, capable to scale Northvolt's operations in Sweden and beyond.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Build & own Northvolt's battery cell industrialization roadmap across all key functions including product engineering, testing, supply chain, business development, production, etc.
Become the focal integration point for the industrialization and transition of our products from prototype to mass production phase by managing all necessary constraints, workflows, technology, and operational objectives
Design, develop and execute the equipment & process engineering strategy for Northvolt optimizing the following factors: Technology selection, process capability, cost of manufacturing, quality, capex, OEE
Develop and drive use of scalable business processes in areas such as vendor selection, process & product development, change control, document management and ramp-up
Hire, grow and develop a team of highly technically skilled people with high focus on:
Communication, alignment, teamwork within the stakeholders
Training and documentation of process parameters & recipe
High standardization of the optimum industrial setup "blueprint"
Continuously investigate and evaluate new process technologies to support the next generation of product

Skills & Requirements
Education/Experience
Experience developing a manufacturing process from proof of concept to high volume production
Mechanical, Industrial Engineering degree or equivalent 8+ years experience
Competences in industrial methodology (TPM, Value analysis, FMEA, Design to cost)
Experience managing large engineering teams or industrial projects with high diversity
Experience navigating industrial project schedule with specialized vendors around the world through equipment production, FAT/SAT, and ramp up



Specific Skills/Abilities
Experience in intense manufacturing situations and ramp-ups especially from electronics or batteries
Extreme attention to detail and time management skills
Superior communication and engagement of people
Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently, while inspiring others
Passionate about technology and innovation in process & equipment
Experience managing expectations and partnerships with equipment vendors and suppliers
Understanding of phases of industrialization from early feasibility studies to high volume production
"Can do" mentality with high ownership of team results and an entrepreneurial spirit
