Director of Development

Do you see yourself as a coach and a facilitator? Someone who thrives on developing others and has a deep understanding of game development?
As the Director of Development here at Toca Boca you will implement Big Room Planning in order to make sure we all have a joint vision of our goals and how to contribute to them.
You will be the first one ever to hold this position, which means you’ll set the ways whilst keeping the focus on play. You’ll join us on our growth journey and will work closely with Jennie, our Head of Studio. Together you’ll make sure everyone’s onboard and enjoying the ride.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be the craft manager for all the producers - supporting them and helping them achieve their professional goals. You’ll do this through workshops and any other ways you see fit. You’ll find solutions to challenges, find synergies and work on effectivization.
You’ll be hands-on in your quest to improve how we plan holistically, operate our projects, ensuring high quality, giving our producers the support they need to be the best that they can be.
You’ll be the one to keep on educating the organisation on all things development. You will improve the way we work, collaborate, and produce our magical digital experiences.
Is this you?
You are a facilitator who focuses on improvement - of processes and of people.
You have technical knowledge and experience with Big Room planning. This is important as you are going to be implementing it here with us.
You are agile at heart but not set on one specific methodology but have more of a pragmatic approach, cherry-picking the best bits. You are familiar with different project management methodologies and know when different methods make sense and when they don’t.

This position is full time and based in our Stockholm office. We apply 6 months of probationary employment. As we’re an international company, with over 10 nationalities and millions of users all over the world, you have to be fluent in English. Your application should therefore be in English.
