We’re currently looking for a Director of Engineering to lead our Core Product Area. We want you to join us to help develop our Product organization and enable our engineering teams in making our core product even more appealing to our users and customers. As Director of Engineering you will be responsible for ensuring that Mentimeter can be equally proud of our tech and how we do things as we are about our product. This role will be based in our Stockholm office.
What you will do
As you are managing an organisation of software engineers, you have to have a big interest in software development and will be comfortable facilitating technical discussions like architecture to enable our engineers to make sound decisions. Prior experience as a software engineer is a plus but not required since you are not expected to do hands on coding. A good delivery mindset, being a leader in agile frameworks and an interest in understanding user needs will definitely help you excel in this role.

You will report to the VP Engineering and work in close collaboration with the CTO, area leads, and leading engineering domain experts to ensure your area thrives.
Accountabilities
Engineering Area Leadership - Representing engineering in the area leadership trio.
Tech delivery - Plan and Deliver on product area strategies that are aligned with company priorities
Line management of Engineering Managers. Coaching them to grow in their leadership.
Staffing and Recruitment - Recruitment, retention, and staff management.
Tech vision and strategy - Set and drive towards the tech vision and strategy for the Area as well as being a contributing factor for overall strategy.
Sound engineering - ensuring investments in engineering are done to maximize the engineering experience as well as the outcome of our work.
Engineering culture work - Ensuring that we actively work with culture development from an engineering perspective as well as ensuring it is in line with the overall Mentimeter company culture.
Operational efficiency - establishing necessary key performance metrics and following up and reporting the operational efficiency.
