Employment: Full-time; until 2009 (Licentiate examination), optional until 2012 (PhD-exam.)

Place: Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Dept.TFM, Luleå University of Technology, Luleå, Sweden.

Duties: 80 % research including courses; 20 % teaching or industrial studies

Start: As soon as possible

Subject: FEM-simulation and experimental analysis of the mechanical properties of hybrid (laser + electric arc) welds under load conditions for products of 10 Swedish companies (e.g.Volvo CE, ESAB, HIAB, Gestamp Hardtech, etc.)

Supervisors: Prof.Alexander Kaplan (LTU - laser welding), Prof.Hans-Åke Häggblad (LTU - FEM of material mechanics), Prof.
Requirements: Completed undergraduate education in materials technology, mechanical engineering, manufacturing, physics or similar.High motivation for carrying out research.Women are particularly encouraged to apply.
