Arbetsuppgifter
This research will be focused on new graphics algorithms developed by studying the state of the art, improving it, testing and analyzing those algorithms and publishing the results.Analysis of algorithms typically involves C/C++ and GPU programming.This position is part of a joint project with Norrköping Visualization and Interaction Studio, Linköpings University.

Selection Criteria

Candidate assessment is mostly based on academic results at the undergraduate level with a particular focus on:
1.Knowledge and skills relevant to the thesis work including undergraduate courses in computer graphics and advanced rendering.These skills can be demonstrated via an interview and recent application development.
2.Demonstrated ability to work independently and ability to formulate and attack scientific problems.The assessment may be done based on the thesis and a discussion of this in an interview.
3.Good communication skills including spoken and written English.
4.Other experience relevant to education at graduate level, such as professional experience.

Desired Criteria

Solid background in Computer Graphics and Mathematics.Strong C/C++ coding ability.GPU programming (DirectX/OpenGL) and understanding of GPU architecture.Experience with Real-Time Volume Rendering and Rendering algorithms such as rasterization, ray tracing, or global illumination.Being able to demonstrate recent graphics applications would be an advantage.

Bedömningsgrund
Employment as a Doctoral student can only be granted if you have been accepted to the postgraduate student program.Acceptance to the postgraduate student program is based on the estimated ability to perform well in your postgraduate studies.

This is also one of the basic criteria for employment.Furthermore you need a valid university degree within a relevant study program.

As a Doctoral student you will mainly be working with you research project, but you can also be given more general tasks within the department i.e.teaching, research and administrative work, in accordance with the regulations.Rules for employment as a Doctoral student is stated in "The Higher Education Ordnance (SFS 1998:80), Chapter 5".
