Driver/Messenger/Handyman

The Embassy of Canada in Stockholm is seeking a qualified individual to fill the locally engaged position of Driver/Messenger/Handyman in the Administration Section of the Embassy.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Under the supervision of the Management and Consular affairs Officer, the incumbent : provides transportation services for authorized passengers; delivers and collects a variety of items and material such as invitations, messages, travel tickets, mail, stationery, documents; ensures proper maintenance of official vehicle; provides general technical assistance in the areas of utility maintenance, installations and repairs to equipment and properties (Chancery, Official Residence and Staff Quarters); ensures proper maintenance of official vehicle and performs other duties.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
N.B., failure to meet any of the essential requirements eliminates candidates from further consideration in the competition
. Valid Driver's licence
. 3 years of working experience at similar positions
. Fluency in English and Swedish. Some knowledge of French is desirable.

RATED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge:
. Broad knowledge of the city of Stockholm and surrounding area
. Safe and secure driving technique
. Basic knowledge of ventilation, heating, electrical and plumbing systems

. Qualified electrician or carpenter or plumber or HVAC technician

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

. Valid work permit.
