Overall Purpose

We are looking for a Due Diligence & Screening Officer to ensure that our operations and business transactions follow all relevant legal and internal rules. What is Due Diligence? Due diligence is an investigation, audit, or review performed to confirm facts or details of a matter under consideration. In the financial world, due diligence requires an examination of financial records before entering into a proposed transaction with another party.

To succeed in this role, you should be a reliable professional who is not afraid to speak their mind and stand by their decisions. You will need to identity and assess the situation and standing of our current and future customers (due diligence) and evaluate potential risks (corruption, fraud, money laundering, bribery) to which they could impact and expose Arelion to. Your goal will be to ensure we operate in a legal and ethical manner while meeting and our business objectives.

In addition, to the Due Diligence area, we are also keen to build on our knowledge and expertise in the areas of trade compliance and sanctions control to ensure that we have robust baseline from which to operate.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement a third-party due diligence process and Know Your Customer (‘KYC’) policy in Arelion based on the Third-Party Code of Conduct, Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy and other applicable internal regulations in the area of third-party management. Note: Third party is a party with whom Arelion has or intends to have a contractual business relationship, e.g., supplier, customer, agent, banks, etc.

- Play a supporting role when it comes to assessing Trade Sanctions and Export Control Policy

Design the following templates to be used in the due diligence process:

- Upfront Information Questionnaire document (a document to be filled in by the third-party supplier or customer entity in question – collects basic information on the affiliate to be assessed, i.e. company registration address and number)
- A post-Due Diligence Self-Assessment Questionnaire (a document to be filled in by a third party It can contain different questions for different types of third parties), should a deeper Due Diligence analysis be required
- Ethical Compass – the guideline on how to assess the due diligence findings and eventually build a risk profile of the third party
- Due diligence report
- Ensure that a list of high – risk countries is compiled and updated on an annual basis.
- Ensure that rescreening of third parties is designed and implemented.
- Ensure that the due diligence process is up to date according to the internal regulations and other good practices in the area of third-party due diligence.
- Ensure that there is an up-to-date process description of the due diligence process which describes at least steps, outcomes, responsible for each step, timeframes.
- Train business functions on the due diligence process
- Advise business functions (Sales, Procurement, others) on how to embed due diligence checks in their respective business processes
- Act as an administrator of the compliance platform, e.g., management of user rights, upgrades of the system, workflow strategy.
- Become a master user and a ‘go to’ person when it comes to using Arelion’s Due Diligence tool

Report analytics related to the due diligence area to the management or upon other requests
