Electrical Engineer ? Power Electronics
This position is for an electrical engineer in the hardware electrical component team within the Volvo Buses electrical distribution department.

The emphasis is component design electrical power distribution and hybrid technology.

The hardware electrical component team is responsible product development and product improvements on HW components for multiple platforms in the Volvo Buses family. The objective for this position is to create technical designs and documentations according to assigned tasks.

Job Description
Design for components within electrical power distribution & hybrid technology. The scope includes hybrid propulsion electrical interface and systems connected to the 600V to 24V circuits such as power electronics and electrical machines

Must have/attain a good knowledge over electro mobility field to meet future customer expectations of products

Responsible for collecting written, or documented in other format, component requirements based on feature/function/appearance requirements and system/architecture/platform requirements

Write and be responsible for the Technical Requirements Specification connected to the component according to the obtained requirements

Deliver and be responsible for component related Technical Description content to the Team leader/Project Coordinator

Create, modify, and release Design Change Notices (DCNs)

Initiate and develop design concepts to meet objectives set by Project

Interface with suppliers to locate and approve components (including some travel)

Review, analyze and report on component compliance via test reports, spec sheets, etc. Develop action plans to meet compliance if necessary

Must be able to coordinate with all necessary departments within the division in order to develop and produce new designs and sustaining solutions

Communicate with project leader and other stakeholders with recommendations to meet schedules and plans
Qualifications



Must have an academic level graduation in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or equivalent competencies

Should have experience with the power distribution / Hybrid components

Should have a basic understanding of the overall impact of Engineering on the business

Must be able to manage work on multiple small projects across multiple platforms, including quality, schedules, costs, etc. and communicate progress with team and project leaders

Must be able to give direction and guidance to Global/outsourced engineering resources as needed to meet cost and schedule objectives

Must have technical knowledge concerning engineering design disciplines, product cost, and performance

Excellent English skills, verbally and in writing
