Electrical System Engineer

We are a dedicated group of engineers within the R&D department providing electrical and electronic solutions for our products, customers and special projects. We are networking and collaborating with our own production unit, sub suppliers, sales team and customers in order to accomplish the absolute best results together.


We work within new technologies, like e-mobility, which will challenge us to find and integrate new systems and components, either by ourselves or in close co-operation with other colleagues and companies within Volvo CE.

Role description


As an Electrical System Engineer, you will work with requirements, from both customer as well as internal, functional descriptions, new development and product maintenance of electrical systems for construction equipment. On a system level you will identify needed electrical components or systems, do the detailed system design and document these electrical solutions in close cooperation with your electrical, mechanical and hydraulics engineering colleagues. Later, you follow up your solutions in production and often finishing up with functional tests.
As a special solution provider we have a lot of various challenges and job tasks to offer and for this particularly role you will join and take part in our on- and forth-going e-mobility journey contributing to these projects with your engineering knowledge and effort. You will work in close cooperation with a lot of skilled professionals internally and externally within Volvo CE and with sub suppliers to help us bring the best solutions into the market.


Who are you?


To succeed we claim that you need to be structured, accurate and curious. You need to master electrical design both on a system level as well as on a component level.
You will also need to have a systematic work approach and the ability to estimate time efforts, continuously follow up and to report in a direct “easy to understand” communication to project management.


You have a proven engineering background and interest in e-mobility areas.


We think that you in a near future will evolve into a great ambassador for the electrical department and our e-mobility projects both internally throughout the company and externally towards customers by being able to communicate work status, skills and challenges.


Our stakeholders are both national and international, which means Swedish as well as English will be used on a daily basis.


We also believe you have / are:
At least a BS degree in electrical/electronic/mechanical engineering or similar.
At least 5 years background working in the field of electrical engineering.
Knowledge and experience working with high voltage (400 V to 1000 V) system & components and power electronics.
Know-how in 12/24V system for vehicle system is beneficial.
Practical background in areas mentioned is a plus.
Insight in AutoCad Electrical or similar system is an advantage.
Experience with EMC requirements is beneficial.
Fluent in Swedish, verbally and in written.
