Join us as Electronics Engineer BMS at BMS & BSW group within the section Traction Battery Controls and Calibration. We are dedicated to electrify our brand with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs). At the engineering department of Propulsion Controls and Calibration, we are responsible for design and delivery of the technical solution of SW for Traction Battery systems for electrified vehicles. We cover the all SW including Application SW as well as Basic SW. We also cover the complete BMS HW system. 

What you’ll do
As an Electronics Engineer you will be part of a BMS team (Battery Management System) that develop and realize the BMS HW functionality.
With your electronic engineering skills, you will ensure that the BMS system requirements, ISO 26262 and EMC/EMI compliance are fulfilled. You will also support the Traction battery section in electronics and electrical area in general.

You will also:
•    Ensure that suppliers understand and implements our requirements and perform verifications 
•    Take ownership of electronics attribute requirements (EMC and Electrical Performance) and low-level functional requirements of BMS
•    Manage compliance towards Volvo Cars Standards and HW SOW with suppliers
•    Follow up prototype vehicle builds and manufacturing of prototypes
•    Perform electronic design reviews
•    Lead and deliver ISO 26262 Part 5 work products. Responsible for system safety implementation on HW.- FTTI, FMEDA management and review
•    Support and develop concept selection for key components like MCU, ASICs etc.
•    Support RFI / RFQ phase with suppliers
•    Work with reliability engineering
•    Develop H/W driver diagnostic requirements and ensure S/W implementation and validation together with system architects and S/W teams
•    Manage requirements in Elektra, system weaver, eIDB
•    Work with Base Tec SW engineers to ensure HW specifications fulfil the requirements

You and your skills
We are looking for you who has a technical education of electronic systems at university level and work experience within electronics design. You also have deep knowledge of EMC/EMI, electronics design, testing of electronics, electrical systems and interfaces. You are familiar with ISO16750 and ISO 26262 and writing requirements on electronic components and systems. We are a global company and therefore you have to be fluent in English, written and spoken. It is an advantage if you have experience within automotive electrification.

As a person you need to have a true interest in electronic design and EMC. You are a collaborative individual - a team player that is prepared to help the rest of the team to achieve what has been committed to deliver together.
