Description of thesis


With the shift to electrification of our machines, the aim to increase the system efficiency becomes greater. The traction voltage system is an integration of multiple components connected via a junction box transferring power to drive the machine. In such a system one of the factors that will affect the efficiency is the EMI disturbance. This thesis aims to address the EMI disturbance that is succepted from each of the component in the 600 V traction system.


Objective and deliverables


To investigate the effect of conducted emission on component and system level for 600V electrical distribution system.
The primary derivable are as follows:
Literature survey to understand the current tools and methods used in EMC calculation
Analysis of EMC requirements and standards
Modelling of the 600V system and simulating/calculating the conducted emission
Provide recommendations for optimal methodology to improve EMC disturbances in the system.



We are looking for a team of two students with knowledge and interest of electromobility. You are curious, open-minded and are interested in collaborating with people with another background than yourself. During the master thesis you are mainly located at our plant in Eskilstuna. The recruitment process is ongoing, the positions can be filled before the application time has expired.


Suitable background
Electrical engineering, Mechatronics, Design engineering and preferably knowledge in ANSYS Maxwell.
