Engineer for Motor Development

Are you looking for a job with technical challenges and responsibility?Would you like to develop motors of the future in Grundfos at a global plan?We are looking for a committed engineer with at broad experience within motor calculation and construction for taking on the responsibility of motor concept and production of a new product development project in Industry/Wastewater and Water Services (IW).Place: Bjerringbro, Denmark (Grundfos Headquarters) CHALLENGES You shall assist in creating innovative motor solutions within standard, submersible and integrated motors.At Grundfos we use asynchronous and permanent magnet based motors, and we also have many motors with integrated frequency converter.In the product development projects you will be responsible for developing motor concepts and parts.In cooperation with the pump engineers you shall assist in choosing pump and motor solutions as well as optimal methods for mechanical shaping and connection of the motor in an integrated product. In close cooperation with motor calculators, mechanical engineers, motor control developers and engineers responsible for the product you shall ensure coordination and execution of the following tasks: a) choice of optimal motor solution (asynchronous, permanent magnet, e-motors), b) correct electrical motor design and compliance with current standards, c) development of samples, proto types and test, d) validating measurements, e) provide production basis, f) produce curve data and other necessary motor documentation, g) estimate and later on validate standard unit cost and full cost on the chosen motor solutions, h) make choice of motor materials in cooperation with purchase and have contact to suppliers, i) create good contact and close cooperation with purchase, motor production and suppliers.A large part of the motors are produced in Hungary and Asia.Together with the other persons responsible for motors in IW/WS you will be responsible for running-in of the motor products in the production companies in close cooperation with the production.Furthermore you shall assist in enhancing the knowledge level in the technical department of motor production in Hungary.YOUR BACKGROUND You are engineer with a solid technical insight and a broad practical experience within motor calculation and development.You have the knowledge of different motor types and frequency converter operation of motors.You are used to work with product development and production and possibly you have experience with project management. As a person you are independent and capable of getting acquainted with problems from a practical solution oriented angle.You will have the technical responsibility for the motor part in development projects, and therefore you shall be used to coordinate and plan activities.You are known for being a good communicator with at trustworthy penetration power.It is important that you are an extrovert team player as you will be part of a development team with cooperaters in the whole world where the capability to cooperate on all levels of responsibility and job are in focus.Grundfos is a global Group and you will have international contacts.Therefore it is important that you are used to communicate in English and speak German.Some travel activities must be expected.
