What you’ll do
We are the Power Electronics SW Technology Area within Power Electronics department, a part of Propulsion and Energy unit at Volvo Cars. Within Power Electronics SW, we are responsible for system design and SW for electric drive inverters, transmission, DC/DCs, and onboard chargers.
The Power Electronics SW Technology Area develops state-of-the-art embedded software in-house, including complete system safety design, SW architecture, integration, testing and release.
As an engineering manager within Power Electronics SW you will be responsible for a group consisting of two teams driving the system development and safety SW development of the complete power electronics domain. The 2 teams consist of senior embedded SW developers, SW architects, system engineers/architects, test engineers and safety engineers that takes a holistic approach of the complete domain, balancing quality, attributes, cost etc. 

We are now seeking a committed and collaborative colleague who wants to join us with the primary responsibility to inspire and lead our teams towards new challenges ahead. You and the teams focus are to advance the electric propulsion technology development. You ensure the work environment for the team and set objectives, do performance reviews and salary setting for your team members. You also ensure competence development and recruitment to assure highly skilled individuals with the right competence in line with our long-term technical strategies.
Also, you contribute with a strong sense of customer focus and business acumen in management forums as well in co-operations with fellow colleagues, team members and suppliers. Your contribution is very important regarding the departments future business direction and results.

What you‘ll bring
The person we are looking for is flexible and enjoys changes as you will be working in a fast-paced, intellectually challenging environment. You are an experienced problem solver, looking for a bigger business challenge. As a person you also apply creative thinking to issues and analyse qualitative and quantitative research data.
You are a self-starter with a pioneering spirit; resourceful and able to take ownership quickly and reliably. You have an ability to lead through people, listen and coach and you are energetic and truly motivated by creating new solutions together with the cross-functional team. 

To thrive in this role, you should have following experience:
* M.Sc. or equivalent and proven technical experience
* Proven experience in an equivalent position
* Deep knowledge and experience in the development and industrialization of power converters
* Documented leadership qualities and experiences
* Driving license
* Previous experience in Automotive will be considered a strong plus
