Engineering Manager to TimeEdit!

Arbetsbeskrivning

Not all heroes wear capes
Most would agree that universities and colleges are quintessential to a well-functioning society. However, with their inherent operational complexity and large sizes, they are among the most difficult organisations to run efficiently. This is what TimeEdit has set out to rectify. We are on a mission to deliver the most comprehensive suite of resource management tools for the higher education sector. TimeEdit is currently the fastest growing provider in the industry and we’re expanding our organization at a rapid pace.

With the market transitioning away from legacy solutions, Excel spreadsheets and home-grown has-beens, the TimeEdit engineering team is pivotal in creating the next generation of tools for universities across the globe. To do this, we are looking for another set of capable hands to lead one of our engineering teams as we execute on our ambitious growth plans.

About the role

As our new Engineering Manager you will be responsible for:

- Leading one of our development teams (today consisting of 4 developers)
- Creating the best possible product together with a wider cross-functional team and help pushing the boundaries for how universities across the world utilize their resources
- Coordinating the team’s strategy and backlog in close collaboration with our Product Manager

Other responsibilities and day-to-day tasks...

As our Engineering Manager you will be holistically responsible for one of the engineering teams tasked with the development of one of TimeEdit’s core applications. You will coach and develop the team members, and ensure a welcoming, collaborative environment in which your team champions the holy grail of pace of execution, product quality and team culture. You will indulge yourself and practice leadership but also get down into the trenches and deliver crisp code.

What do you need to succeed in this role?

- 3-5 years of engineering experience, where of 1-2 years in a leadership position
- Experience with coordinating a team’s backlog and also dealing with some of the tickets yourself
- Know your way around JavaScript; React and NodeJS to be precise
- Experience with turning business requirements into technical specifications, and assessing tradeoffs between various solutions
- Enjoy a collaborative, context-driven environment where you’ll get to work on everything from strategy and architecture to leadership and programming

- Great communication skills - fluent in English, verbal and written

Who are you?

We believe that you are an individual that wants to contribute with your own ideas and challenge our way of thinking. We believe that you enjoy “blank canvas” problem solving, and consider yourself a self-starter. We are a company with high ambitions, and we believe that you have them too. That said, we simultaneously believe you have strong ethics, and practice value-based leadership.

If this is you, go ahead and apply! We’re eager to get to know you, and kick off this journey together.

If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Daniel at daniel.sumberaz@timeedit.com.
