The English School announces a vacancy for the position of English Language Teacher, Substitute Part-time 50% Subject teacher(s) 20-50% Part-time The English School has grown rapidly since it opened in 2000 and has a current population of 75 students.Situated in Älmhult in southern Sweden it is a state school with support from Ikea of Sweden for the teacher s professional development.The local area, which has a population of approx.15 000, is peaceful and situated in an attractive area with nearby lakes and forests.The provincial town of Växjö is easily reached by either rail or road, as are other large cities in the region and the Continent. The school was authorised for The International Baccalaureate s Primary Years Programme in May 2003 and for The Middle Years Programme in May 2009.The school is international and has a friendly atmosphere.The classes are small and all teaching is in English.The position of English Language Teacher is part of The Middle Years Programme and is available for the coming autumn term only.The position of English Language teacher may preferably be combined with part-time hours available in Spanish, French, Swedish, P.E., Maths/ Computers or Humanities and depending on qualifications.Professional qualifications: - A teaching certificate or degree.- English as a mother-tongue is a requirement for the English language position and fluency in English for subject teachers.- Experience of teaching the subject is a strong merit.Experience/ training in the IBO s MYP is a merit and an interest to teach according to the programme essential.- Strong interpersonal skills are required as the position involves working in a team.Salary: Monthly.Individual salary rate.Inquiries: Vivien Björnestrand, Head Please mark the application "Utbildning 49 ".
