ENNA The European Network of NGOs in Afghanistan (ENNA) coordinates joint European policy & advocacy work of its 17 member agencies, 4 Associates and their Afghan counterparts.Most member agencies have a long-term engagement in development assistance and/or humanitarian aid in Afghanistan; some have been active in the country over three decades. The ENNA Secretariat, headed by the ENNA Manager, is responsible for: gathering information and analyzing developments in Europe-Afghanistan policy making; coordinating member?s advocacy work; providing Afghan CSOs and members with advocacy platforms; organizing events; increasing collaboration among European NGOs involved in Afghanistan; monitoring the network?s development and ENNA NSA project1 progress.The ENNA Secretariat comprises 3 staff members and 1 Special Advisor.The ENNA Secretariat will be based in Stockholm and Brussels, the main office is with SCA in their Stockholm Management Office. Scope of Work Directly responsible to the ENNA Manager.The ENNA Coordinator is focal point for ENNA?s work in Brussels.The post-holder will build and maintain a network of contacts with senior staff in EC, European Parliament, External Action Service, NATO HQ as well as country delegations to the EU and to NATO.The ENNA Coordinator will also establish a good working relationship with all ENNA members.Information from members and Brussels-based contacts will feed into planning of focused policy and advocacy projects and planning of events.The post-holder will coordinate an extensive programme of events in Brussels and member states during a three year cycle.She/he facilitates coherent NGO policy and advocacy work involving members and partners.Targeted fundraising is also part of this role.The ENNA Coordinator is responsible for daily management of the Brussels office.Entry Requirements Qualifications: University Degree and evidence of highly developed analytical and research skills.Preferably in international development.Experience: - At least two years of relevant work experience in multi-agency coordination and event coordination with a sound understanding of policy and advocacy work.- At least two years of working at senior level within an international NGO or similar organisation.- Experience of financial monitoring and reporting.- Experience from work in a post-conflict environment and in Muslim countries is an advantage.- Experience of policy and advocacy work is preferable, especially with regards to drafting documents and establishing contacts with civil servants and military staff.Application information Last date for application: October 4th 2010.Applications will be reviewed as they are submitted and final decision may come ahead of October 4th 2010.Applicants are advised to apply as early as possible.Contract period: 1 November 2010 ?In the subject line write ENNA Coordinator, Brussels
