Experienced Linux Designer (Göteborg/Sweden)

Assignment Description

For our customer we are now looking for an experienced Linux Designer with deep knowledge of GNU/Linux based platforms, for example, upgrading kernel, and userspace, toolchain, handling security patchers, performance optimization and more.

Our customer is a very mature agile organization when it comes to software development, using principles like Scrum and Lean. They work with early feedback from stakeholders and customers in the development processes that are base for Continuous Integration Software Principles. The development teams are independent, cross-functional and self-organizing.



In this assignment you will be working directly with the Product Owner and stakeholders in a collaborative manner, this will require a mature developer with a team focus, the best way to create software according to our customer.

Qualifications

- Proficient in Linux OS architecture
- Proficient in English
- MSc or higher education in a technical discipline related to Computer Science
- Highly developed knowledge sharing & collaboration skills
- Senior development skillset




Previous Experience

- Using Yocto or similar tool to customize the Linux distribution
- Compiling, integration, deploying and troubleshooting own Linux distribution on x86 targets or similar
- Uplifting kernel and user space
- Supervision handling in OS
- SW craftmanship and tools e.g. git and code reviewing
- OS security and OS hardening
- Performance optimization e.g. Memory and CPU utilization
- Regression testing of middleware and application code
- High availability mechanisms (resilient, self-diagnostics and healing mechanisms)
- Storage and networking redundancy
