Scania is on a transformation journey, from delivering Trucks, Buses and Engines to being a supplier of complete sustainable transport solutions. During the coming years we are launching our new powertrain platform as a part of that shift and we are now looking for an experienced team member to join us.

As a Senior sourcing manager within our dynamic, commercial and international environment, you would be a key contributor in our collaboration with partners internally within TRATON group as well as with our highly competent suppliers. We are a diverse team with 9 people from various backgrounds with experience stretching between 1 and 10+ years within the company. We all have our own areas of responsibility but take pride in supporting each other when problems and deviations occur in order to find the best solutions for Scania. Responsibilities 

In your role as a Senior Sourcing Manager you will be responsible for Exhaust systems working closely with our development colleagues within Aftertreatment Systems. In this strategic segment you will lead the collaboration between Scania and our suppliers in maintaining the high performing product at the right cost level, throughout continuous technical development as we stay ahead of the technological curve, in the project timeline.

From the first concept discussions and the prototypes to validate the same, through nomination of a chosen supplier and the complete industrialization cycle until the project is fully launched and running stable in serial production you will own the progress and secure the right balance between Technology, Quality, Delivery, Cost & Sustainability (TQDCS). In this role you will work in complex cross functional discussions to guide the best business case for Scania in securing our top performing product in a commercially strategic way. This strategic segment also works closely with connecting segments within Aftertreatment systems.

As a senior sourcing manager you are also expected to support when it comes to developing the commercial competence within the department as well as guiding your colleagues and give support and guidance in negotiation, leveraging the strategic planning of critical deliveries and setting commercial strategies.

Your profile

You are a person with great commercial interest and a passion for doing business while staying close to the technology. You are analytical, structured, take own initiatives and are able to handle multiple things at the same time. You are good at maintaining relationships and like to represent purchasing in cross functions as well as towards suppliers in a professional way, and enjoy the challenge of staying clearly aligned on complex dialogues. You are also self-driven with high integrity and contribute to the development of the team. Within all these areas of competence you have previous extensive experience.

We expect you to have an academic degree in industrial engineering, business or similar. You should have experience from other purchaser roles within Scania or externally comparable sectors, meriting is experience with the automotive sector.

As the role involves communication with global suppliers, you are fluent in English, and preferably also in Swedish.
