The Global Customs function (GC) within Volvo Logistics (VLC) is the customs competence centre at AB Volvo. It consists of several departments worldwide and it serves as a support function to all VLC's global business operations (GBO's). The open position is as Export Control Manager and as such to function as VLC's competence in export control issues regarding both process compliance and development in this important area of subject. This means a lot of contact towards the legal departments of each Business area (BA) and Business unit (BU) within AB Volvo. The position will report directly to the Global Customs Manager of VLC and is based in Gothenburg. This is a new area of responsibility for VLC and for this role we are looking for a person with a broad and well documented knowledge and experience in export matters. Experience in export control of strategic and dual use items are a strong merit. Your daily responsibilities will be to participate in securing that the Volvo companies follows the export control regulations in respective export country. You will partly also be involved in import- and export customs development issues. You will work closely with other departments within VLC and other Volvo companies and also have contact with suppliers and Customs & other authorities in many different countries and regions of the world. There will be a need for occasional travelling. Qualifications: Customs education at a high level, and/or 3-5 years experience from working with complex Customs issues and investigations Experienced and with well documented capabilities in working as a contact towards a customer. Knowledge of Customs and International Trade laws and Export control regulations Ability to translate the current Export Control regulations into what the Volvo companies needs to do to align with these rules Experience in trade facilitation and safety & security focused certification programs Understand authority views and how to be proactive in the dialogue with these authorities. Good knowledge of Swedish and English is a must, additional language is a strong merit.
